Pubs on the Sandstone Trail
Some of thebest pubs and country inns in Cheshire and Shropshire can be found either on or within easy walking distance of the Sandstone Trail.
They offer good food, good beer, and a warm welcome. Some are genuinely ancient; many promise real ale and real fires; some have stunning views. Most welcome walkers, and are child-friendly, too.

Most of these pubs have their own websites giving further details. I can recommend them all.
There are circular walks along the Sandstone Trail from many of these pubs, too. What's more, many of these popular Cheshire pubs also serve local award-winning beers such as Weetwood Ales, brewed in Tarvin; and Spitting Feathers, brewed in Waverton, near Chester.
After a long walk, there's nothing like a good pint.
